Wonderful Stuff I’ve Learned from my Daughter

My Kids on a Train

Well, I guess my title may be a little “miss”leading.  I suppose it would be more accurate if it said what I’ve learned because of my daughter.  But I love my kids and to be sure I have learned much from them.  Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of heaven…”.  When I help out in Sunday school or spend time with my kids I always have the thought in the back of my mind;  “Cool, I am spending time with ‘such is the kingdom of heaven’.”  Just replace your kids names with that phrase and maybe when your patience is being tested it will help and maybe it wont.  Its been a hit or miss thing with me. 😉  The trick is getting past the current circumstance which quite obviously doesn’t look anything like you may have envisioned the kingdom of heaven to be like.

Pooh – “Hello rabbit, are you home..”
Rabbit – “Let’s pretend I’m not and see what happens…”

In any case I make no claims of any sort as to whether or not what I have learned will work for anyone else.  But here are a list of some of the things I’ve learned so far and I guess I may keep adding to the list as life goes on.

  1. Always have some colgate tooth paste in the house.  Not the gel mind you, the paste.  The white one.  It will get permanent marker off most surfaces.
  2. Always have a can of WD40.  While it works well lubricating the doors so they don’t creak and wake up the baby it also works well at getting crayon off of walls.
  3. If some how pen marks mystically appear on a couch there are two possible yet dangerous solutions.  You can try hair spray.  You can try a mixture of lemon juice and cream of tartar.
  4. Always have a Mr Clean Magic Eraser which will clean everything else, almost…
  5. hmm, five…  ah, I know I’ve forgotten some and I’m sure there will be more to come…

I have personal experience with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser, too. It is a very good product.
